FOUR MORE LAPTOPS DONATED

WEYMOUTH & PORTLAND LIONS CLUB HAND OVER FOUR MORE LAPTOP COMPUTERS
As part of the Lions continuing project to pass on refurbished laptops, from generous local businesses, to children with learning difficulties, Lions President Les Board hands over four more to Raj Lehal, Family Support Manager, Early Intervention Children’s Services.

Laptops to Steps

In thanking the Lions Raj Lehal said “We have 4 families who will benefit enormously from having a computer and the access to learning and opportunities that these computers will facilitate. Although computers are available in college, it will enable two of our young people to continue their studies at home, in the evening, at weekends and in the holidays. One computer will be for the use of a boy who has Asperger’s and ADHD. Instead of having to use general use computers, using memory sticks and having to organise himself, he will have his own computer with access to information, his own work and schedules, at his fingertips.

In these difficult economic times, families are finding it harder than ever to manage very tight budgets and the young people that we work with often have less opportunities than many of their peers. Access to IT is very empowering in today’s world and the gift of computers and software by the Lions Club, will enhance lives and put smiles on young people’s faces! So, ‘Thank you, Lions Club’ “.

Weymouth & Portland lions are grateful to Trenton Oliver at Cohort Computers Ltd of Icen Way Dorchester for his help in setting up the refurbishment programme.
