Lions Youth Brass – South Coast Tour – Debenhams, Weymouth on 25th July 2015.

Lions Youth Brass are based in Sandbach, Cheshire, and this year will be celebrating their 25^th Anniversary with a party and concert being held on Sunday 5^th July 2015 in Sandbach..

The organisation also supports a Beginner and Junior band and altogether the organisation has over 100 members aged between 6 and 19.

The aim of the organisation is to provide an environment where young people can come together to perform to the highest standard they can achieve, while maintain the ability to have fun in a brass band environment.

The organisation works hard to maintain strong links within the local community and has a very good relationship with local Schools, they are also a partner of The Love Music Trust.

The Bands Musical Director is Nigel Birch and he has directed the band from 1990 and has led the band to all its major successes.

This year the band will be touring the South Coast playing performances and raising money for local Lions Clubs in the area.

 

 

 

 

 

Lions Youth Brass was formed in 1989 taking its name from the Lions Clubs around South Cheshire who agreed to sponsor the band through annual donations and still do to this day. They quickly established themselves as a leading Youth Brass Band winning a national title in 1994 and again in 1995. Since 1990 a Beginner and Junior Band have provided a constant flow of young talent for the Youth Band by teaching 100’s of young people, often from scratch. Many past members have gone on to play with leading adult Bands.
