Weymouth and Portland Lions Club’s Charity Golf Day for 2015 was held on Friday 7th August and hailed as a great success raising some £1,800 for the club’s charity fund. The format for the day was a ‘Texas Scramble’ with twelve teams of four taking part. The team from Bluebird Coaches (M Short, M Hoare, S Hoare and M Coles) defended their title by winning the trophy for a second year running with a score of 56.4. Runners up were Team Shirley (Walkers) (C Knight, D Slater, J Bower and L Skinner) with a score of 56.8, followed up in third place by a team from Dorchester & District Lions Cub (A Rose, N Rose, P Mercer and A Harris) with a score of 59. Longest Drive on the 9th was won by S Hoare (Bluebirds) and nearest the pin on the 5th was won by L Coles (Team Bartlett).
