On Friday 25th February, Lion President, Kevin Brookes together with Ryan the Lion made a very welcome £500 donation on behalf of the club to the Friends of M.V. Freedom in recognition of their assistance over the years at the Lions Christmas Day Harbour Swim.
Volunteers and staff at M.V. Freedom support the Lions with expertise on the water every Christmas Day, providing a safety boat and also supporting the club as a very useful ferry service across the harbour to carry such things has swimmers’ kit.
M.V. Freedom is a local charity that gives access to the sea for people living with disabilities by providing free short excursions and day trips. For more information, go to their website at:
