Tuesday saw the Lions annual free show at the Pavilion for the senior folk of Weymouth and Portland and nearby. This is the club’s way of recognising the contribution to the community our older citizens have made, and we were delighted that nearly 1,000 of them turned up to enjoy the fantastic entertainment.
The show featured local entertainers Pzazz, Weymouth Operatic Society, Maisie Sheridan and the Decadettes, and I would like to thank them all for appearing for free and delighting the audience. Thanks also to local band Replay, fronted by Lion Norman Stagles, who wowed the audience with their renditions of some of the old favourites. A few Lions club members themselves tried their hand at acting, with their comedy Pirates sketch, raising a few laughs.
