Lions club members were down at Weymouth Harbour this morning with the Mayor and Mayoress testing the water for the annual Lions Christmas Day Swim and they think the water is just about right! Lions were ably assisted by Muddles, the Court Jester, played by Gwynfryn West, from the production of Sleeping Beauty now showing at Weymouth Pavilion. 170 have already signed up for the swim so don't leave it too late if you want to take part in this unique event.

Lions Annual Christmas Show – Another ‘Sell Out’!

Weymouth & Portland Lions Club put on a cracking show for the Senior Citizens of the Borough at their annual Christmas Show with all seats taken. Entertainment was provided by a wealth of local talent at no cost to the Lions for which they are extremely grateful. ARE YOU READY FOR THE CHRISTMAS DAY HARBOUR SWIM 2017?

  Every year thousands of people line the harbour at Weymouth to witness this annual Lions event which has become a landmark event for the town.  Nearly 400 swimmers took the plunge last year, which was a record for us, raising over £20,000 for a whole host of national and local charities. This year each swimmer will be presented with one of these medals to commemorate the event which is, incidentally, the Lions centennial year. WEYMOUTH BEACH MOTOCROSS 2017 – SPECTACULAR SUCCESS!

On Sunday the Weymouth and Portland Lions Club together with the Purbeck Motocross Club held the 35th annual Weymouth Beach Motocross. The event was an absolutely spectacular success, with 344 brave riders taking part and over 20,000 spectators lining the seafront. LIONS CELEBRATE UN DAY WITH THE MAYOR

Lion President Roger Hogbin joined with the Mayor of Weymouth & Portland, Councillor Kevin Brookes, to celebrate UN Day at a flag raising ceremony at the Council offices. Roger was invited to speak on behalf of Lions and said "United Nations Day is a particular cause for celebration for the Weymouth and Portland Lions Club. Weymouth & Portland Lions Vice President Chris Bill met up with fellow Lions of the Gibraltar club whilst on holiday there recently. Chris said that they made him and his wife, Carmen, very welcome. Lions Entertain the Town Centre Shoppers

The Weymouth and Portland Lions Club held its annual “Busk” in the town centre. It was a lovely sunny, September day with hundreds of local people and visitors gathering in the town centre. They were treated to a wonderful and very enjoyable musical experience; musicians, led by the very popular local band Replay, entertained the crowds.
