LIONS SHOW THE WAY TO THE HUB

Weymouth & Portland Lions have given their support to the Veterans by providing them with a sign for their ‘Community Café’. Lions President Roger Hogbin, shown here with ‘Hub’ Director Darren Bowden, said “It was an honour and a pleasure to meet Darren. The Hub provides excellent support to the veterans and a warm welcome to visitors, and I am very pleased that the members of the Weymouth and Portland Lions Club have been able to contribute to their efforts in a small way”. WEYMOUTH BEACH MOTOCROSS – ANOTHER RECORD EVENT FOR THE LIONS CLUB

20,000 Motocross fans descended on Weymouth to watch the annual Beach Motocross, staged by the Lions together with Purbeck Motocross Club. 360 riders took part and the line-up was headed by four times world champion times World Enduro Champion, Steve Holcombe, former European and British Enduro Champion Daryl Bolter, alongside of them is three times winner of the Beach Race, local lad, Jake Shipton plus no less than eight British Champions which includes the Women’s Champion Catherine King. LIONS COMMEMORATE UN DAY WITH THE MAYOR

Lions helped the Mayor, Councillor Gill Taylor, and Civic Leaders commemorate UN Day at a flag raising ceremony at the Council Offices today, 24th October. Lion President Roger Hogbin was invited to speak on behalf of Lions and said "United Nations Day is a particular cause for celebration for the Weymouth and Portland Lions Club.
