National Busking Day was well and truly celebrated this weekend in Weymouth town centre with Weymouth & Portland Lions Club holding their annual Street Busk raising £831 for the Lions Charity Fund.

Funds raised by the Lions are mainly spent in the local community and they have recently made a grant of £500 to help fund a Defibrillator which will be placed at Weymouth Pavilion.

This is a very busy period for the Lions with three more fundraising events coming up very soon: Lions Youth Brass Band will be giving free open air concerts in Weymouth on Saturday 25th July and at Portland on the 27th, followed by a 50’s & 60’s dance, with Replay, at the Pavilion on the 31st July, and a Charity Golf Day at Weymouth on the 7th August.
