Lions President Norman Stagles presents a refurbished laptop computer to Jordan

Lions President Norman Stagles hands over a refurbished laptop to Jordan who has complex learning needs.

Lions were informed that the new hardware will enable Jordan to access specific computer based programs which will enhance the skills needed to learn, for example, memory games. These games support the cognitive processing system which allows children to think. It is a common misconception that children already know how to think but the reality is that some children with learning difficulties have to be taught how to do this.

The Lions have a number of laptop computers available for people with special needs and who meet certain criteria requirements.

Weymouth & Portland lions are extremely grateful to Trenton Oliver at Cohort Computers Ltd of Icen Way, Dorchester for his help in refurbishing computers for the Lions Laptop programme.

Individuals or companies who would like to donate used computer equipment to the Lions Club should contact chris.bill@weymouthlionsclub.co.uk or 07990 887535
