The mayor of Weymouth and Portland, Cllr Richard Kosior said: “I’m a great supporter of the community volunteers. It isn’t until you become mayor that you realise how much volunteering goes on in the borough of Weymouth and Portland, and how much wouldn’t happen without those volunteers. Once you understand it, you spread the word.”

Manager, Kate Stone said ’WCV would like to express their sincere thanks to the Lions Club for their generous donation and continued support of our charity.

WCV are having a very difficult time at present trying to secure funding to remain open and continue to provide services to the local community. This donation will go a long way to helping us keep our mini bus on the road for the next six months. The mini bus is used daily to transport our volunteer to homes in the Borough where we have been asked to undertake gardening work for the elderly, attend local events with a crew of stewards or deliver/collect items of furniture that are then made available to other for a minimal donation’.
