WEYMOUTH & PORTLAND LIONS CLUB WELCOMES IT’S FIRST LADY MEMBER

The Lions inducted Julie Storey as their first lady member into their club at their monthly dinner meeting held at the Rembrandt Hotel. The ceremony was conducted by the Lions District Governor, Ken Staniforth, who said how proud he was to be invited down to Weymouth for this momentous occasion.

 Lion Club President Roger Hogbin said: As President of the Weymouth and Portland Lions Club and Julie’s sponsor, I am extremely pleased to welcome her both as a member and especially as our first female member, which is a significant milestone for the club. I am very confident that Julie, a long-time supporter of Lions, brings both skills and personality that will help us to continue to provide support and assistance to the local community. 

Julie Storey commented: I am both honoured and delighted to have joined the Weymouth & Portland Lions Club and be the first female member.  I very much look forward to working with all existing members to assist in carrying on their great work. 

It was a further privilege to have District Governor Ken Staniforth, in attendance to make the presentations which included an additional pin from Gudrun Yngvadottir, President of Lions International and the first female in this role.
