Thomas Carney, aged 13, currently ranked number 1 in Great Britain for under 14’s in Poomsae Taekwondo, receives a cheque from Weymouth & Portland Lions Club for £230 to help cover some of his expenses in pursuit of his chosen sport. In order to compete at this level Thomas has to travel long distances and, unfortunately, grants are not available for under 16 year olds so the Lions thought they would give him a little help so that he can concentrate on his sport.
