Lions President, Les Board, said that he hopes that the event will help
raise the awareness of the public in sight related issues and illnesses.
Lions throughout the world have an objective to eliminate preventable
blindness and improve sight. 100 Year ago Helen Keller challenged the
Lions:
“I appeal to you Lions, you who have your sight, your hearing, you who are
strong and brave and kind. Will you not constitute yourselves Knights of the
Blind in this crusade against darkness?” – Helen Keller
