'SPEC-TACULAR' EFFORT
Lions Clubs of the British Isles and Ireland Spectacle Recycling Initiative, launched originally by the Lions Club of Chichester in 1967, today sees nearly a third of a million pairs of used glasses collected, sorted and distributed to clinics and eye camps in communities across Africa, India and eastern Europe in partnership with Medico France.
The project also raises financial support for eye related projects at home and overseas by recycling scrap metal from spectacles that are broken or unsuitable for recycling.
Thank you to all the individuals and organisation...

Weymouth & Portland Lions Club responds to an appeal from their district HQ by donating £1000 to the Ebola Crisis.
With 167 Clubs and more than 8,000 Lions in the affected countries, Lions throughout the world are pledging their support for the orphaned children of Ebola victims, firstly to feed them, then to provide clothing, sanitation and perhaps in the longer term housing in the shape of orphanages.
